UPSC Exam 2017: Main, Prelims  of CSE Pattern, ESE Pattern

The Union Public Service Commission is a central government agency which conducts different exams which help the candidate to do a job in government offices. These exams are  Civil Services Examination, Indian Forest Service Examination,  Combined Defense Services Examination also other exams like National Defense Academy Examination, Central Armed Police Forces among others. All these exams which are conducted by UPSC are the toughest exam conducted in India with the success rate of 0.1%-0.3%. UPSC is a Constitution of India which is given all the authorities to conduct these examinations. It also looks after the other works like promotions of employees according to their work, providing advice to the Indian government with respect to recruitment methods, discipline cases related to civil services, etc.

These UPSC exams have three steps of exams they are:

Step 1- Preliminary Test

Step 2- Main Test

Step 3- Personality Test or Interview

All these UPSC reports are been submitted to President of India, as all work done in UPSC is first discussed to the President and later acted on that decision made. These exams are mostly conducted within the first 21 days of October. After that, all shortlisted students and candidates are called by UPSC in the month of March or April. Then the selected people are again called for the preliminary test, and these candidates are selected according to their aggregate marks given in personality test and this preliminary test is conducted in the month of May.

After 1950 Federal Public Service Commission became legally UPSC of the Constitution of India. Union Public Service Commission has the major responsibility of conducting exams for the fields like railways, forest department, armed forces, postal services and much more. They select candidates according to the eligibility of candidates and the need of services from them. UPSC conducts many examinations all over India for different fields according to the eligibility. These exams are taken in 42 different centers in India. Recruitment by the selection of sub-norms is carried by either directly taking interview or by step by step taking exam followed by an interview. Recruitment is done by 3 methods: (1) Direct Recruitment (2) Promotion and (3) Transfer. Candidates must be degree holders or graduates to sit for this examination. Indian students having degrees from abroad need to have proof to guarantee that their degree is authorized or perceived by University Grants Commission (UGC). UPSC exams mostly refer to the posts of IAS, IPS and IRS and other government exams.

Prelims

  • For Prelims contains 2 paper each of 200 marks each, pattern of multiple choice questions of objective type. Both papers combine and questions marks scores of 400 marks.

  • Paper 1 -General Studies contain 200 questions with 100 marks and duration of 2 hours.(M.C.Q).

  • Paper 2 -Aptitude contains 200 questions with 80 marks and duration of 2 hours.

Mains 

  • Paper A Indian Language and Paper B English contains 300 marks each.
  • Paper Ι to paper VΙΙ 250 marks each.
  • Conducts a dedicated service as forestry service having 2 stage of exam 1> preliminary and 2> Physical interview and writing test.

  • Paper Ι General English and Paper General Knowledge ΙΙ contains 300 marks each.

  • Paper  ΙΙΙ to paper VΙ contains 200 marks each.

  • This exam has various post such as

    • Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.

    • Mechanical Engineering

ESE - Engineering Services Exam

  • Exam contains three stages

    • Stage Ι preliminary having 2 papers.

    • Paper 1 Aptitude test contains 200 marks with 2 hours duration.

    • Paper 2 Engineering contains 300 marks with 3 hours duration.

      • Stage ΙΙ mains Subjective papers having 2 papers.

      • Paper 1 and paper 2 Engineering contains 300 marks each with 3 hours each.
