CAT exam 2017 is used to get admitted to P.G for Business Administration under NITs, IIT, IIM and private institutes.

CAT exam 2017 has five divisions or categories in which students are scored. These categories define the students’ academic inclination towards the subject in regards to which the Common Administrative Test is being held. These five categories are:

1. Reading Comprehension
2. Verbal Ability
3. Logical Reasoning
4. Quantitative Ability
5. Data Interpretation

The CAT exam 2017 is divided into three parts. There is a total of a hundred 100 questions of examination, Three hundred 300 marks of examination and 180 minutes of exam duration.

Each correct answer gets positive three marks and each incorrect answer causes a loss of one mark.
The Verbal and reading comprehension section carries 34 questions. The quantitative aptitude section carries 34 questions as well whereas the section pertaining to the interpretation of data and logical reasoning carries 32 marks. The overall marks that a student/ applicant earns or loses are then judged and scored.
The duration of CAT exam 2017 is 3 hours.
