For general category candidate should maintain till 45 % and for other ST category have to maintain till 40 %.
MAT 2017 Exam pattern
The MAT test has 200 questions which award 1 marks for every correct answer and 1/4 negative marking for every wrong answer as well.
The MAT exam duration 2hrs and 30 mins with 200 questions.
The MAT exam have a fairly heavy, but very efficient syllabus that covers the entire base of studies
There are five sections in the whole MAT entrance exam that comprise of 40 questions. These test an individual candidate on their interpretation, language and quantitative skills along with general knowledge. These 5 sections of assessment are:
1. Quantitative ability
2. Data Sufficiently
3. Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
4. Interpretation of Data
5. Logical and Analytical Reasoning
6. General Awareness
This is similar to the syllabus of the CAT test, the only difference being the added topic of General Awareness. This topic is highly important as it marks the General Knowledge of an individual which is required as everyone should have the basic knowledge of the happenings around them. The other topics follow the same guidelines as they test the skills of a candidate all the way from how they understand and interpret data and use it in given situations to their skills with words and writings along with having basic ideas of Mathematics from grades 1 to 10 and proper general knowledge, of course.
MAT 2017 Application Process
For a MAT application, one should register Online by visiting official site.
Candidates can pay by Online mode as well as pay by demand draft or by cash (offline).
The applicable fees 1400 /- can be paid by an Online mode such as Debit / Credit cards or by demand draft in favor of All India Management Association payable at Delhi from any bank. Then register online along with the DD details. Cash payment at new Delhi centers.
